Why use a wedding planner or an event planner?

Are you trying to decide if a wedding planner or event planner is right for you? Or wondering what value do they actually bring? Well look no further, we’ve put together a list to help you understand exactly what we do and how we can help.

  1. The Little Black Book - We already have a list of the best suppliers in our little black book so you don't have to go looking for them. We only work with those that we trust because we have to look after our own reputation but, if you do have your own suppliers in mind we know the questions you may not think of to ask to ensure they are the right fit for your requirements.

  2. Time - Endless hours are spent planning an event or wedding (the average wedding can take between 200-300 hours to plan!!). Researching, calling suppliers, negotiating the right deal… the list goes on and on. We’re sure you could be filling that time with something else.

  3. De-stress - The numerous elements that go into planning a wedding or an event whilst still having to work or carry on with your normal everyday life can be mind blowing! This is our full time job so there’s no need for you to feel like that because we can do it for you.

  4. Budgeting - Keeping track on what payments are going out and whats left in the kitty, or even knowing where is best to make cut backs if needed can be overwhelming and confusing. Having an extra set of eyes that will be firm will make a big difference.

  5. Ideas to life - Sometimes you need a little help to bring your ideas to life. From chic and sophisticated to a country bumpkin style we can give you the confidence and support to make it happen.

  6. Slick - Planners LOVE lists and timelines which ensures no detail is missed. From scheduling deliveries, setting up, suppliers arriving on time to clearing up at the very end we have it all covered so everything goes like clock work.

  7. Negotiation - This isn’t just for speaking to suppliers… it can be needed for family, friends and colleagues too! Emotions can be running high and tension can arise, so having someone who can be the mediator in a difficult situation can help you avoid unnecessary stress.

  8. Your Personal Assistant - You can use us to do as much or as little as you need. We are here to juggle everything for you and are always at the end of the phone for a little (or big) chat if you need a listening ear.

  9. Survival kit - Us planners are always one step ahead of the game, be it a needle and thread, paracetamol to duct tape we always have an emergency kit with us so you don’t have to worry about those little details and can enjoy yourself.

Party Themes

The theme to your party can create deep memorable experiences for your guests and can really bring the occasion to life, mixing it up from a normal celebration.

When selecting your theme, think about who’s on your guest list and how it will suit them. Do your research, look into the the music style and the history so you fully understand the ins and outs of that era or genre. Look at how it can be built into every element of your party, are those items easily sourced or is it going to be troublesome?

By getting down to the nitty gritty details like this you will be creating an event for your guests that allows them to to feel like they are in the moment and truly experiencing the theme you have chosen. Here are our favourite six themes to give you some inspiration:

Hollywood - Oozing sophistication in tuxedo’s and gowns whilst surrounded by dramatic drapes and dazzling chandeliers. Roll out the red carpet with rope railing aisle dividers to hold back the paps and enjoy the bubbles from vintage champagne glasses. Add in ‘Director’ chairs, giant film reels an award statues for that finishing touch.

Hawaiian - Have the tiki hut stocked up with all the rum, coconuts and cocktail umbrellas. Luau fence fringes, palm trees, tropical leafs and aloha signage will set the scene for your sun craving guests. Be sure to give the dress code of flower lies, grass skirts and wacky vibrant shirts so no one feels out of place.

Seventies - Flares, afro’s and tashes are a must. Glitter disco balls and multi coloured strobe lighting will create the perfect place to strut those dance moves on the LED dance floor. Make an entrance with a bright entrance to get your guests in the disco mood and include glowing cubes and poseur tables to set the scene.

Masquerade - Dating back to the 15th century, high collar’s and puffy sleeves were the look for masquerade balls which started in the 15th century in Italy. Mysterious laced masques along with dark lighting, feathers, candelabras and curtains will give you that theatrical feel and Renaissance style.

Tea Party - A traditional English tea party with pretty flower patterns and the finest china fit for a Queen to enjoy. Bunting, pom pom garlands and a rustic floral backdrop for that insta worthy snap. And not forgetting those delicious scones and a selection of finger sandwiches placed on beautiful tied cake stands as your show stopping centre pieces.

Casino royal - Life size, light up dices and playing cards hanging from the walls along with Vegas signs in lights and plenty of feather centre pieces will bring your casino themed party to life. Black, white and red drapes as well as roulette wheels and poker chips will really centre the scene for your games filled night.
